The Moon and Her Fairy

Oh Moon

Why are you so far away?
Why can’t I hold you close,
Or feel your warmth,
Your gentle glow?

I long for you to be with me,
To light the shadows in my life,
The way you brighten
The darkest skies at night.

Oh Moon,
You shine all alone,
Though stars surround you,
Your light is but a borrowed glow,
Reflecting the sun’s fiery soul.

You come and go as you please,
But when my eyes can’t find you,
My heart shatters—
Into a million pieces.

Come down to me, my Moon,
For I am your Moon Fairy,
Lost and afraid without your light.
Stay with me—
And make the night feel right.
